A wet bride is a lucky 👰
A very warm welcome back to our weekly blog. We hope you’ve all had a good week. We have to say that, despite all the good weather we’ve had this year, the rain has finally reached us. In fact, Gibraltar and the Costa del Sol were flooded in some areas. It didn’t rain for very long but it was an amazing thunder storm. We’re guessing that our photographers were all outside somewhere trying to photograph the amazing rays.
However, considering the freezing temperatures in some parts of Europe and the snow fall they’ve had, we really have nothing to complain about. In Italy they say “Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata” – A wet bride is a lucky bride.
Although we’re not in Italy, we’re sticking to the fact that rain is actually considered good luck for newly weds on their wedding day. So bring on the weddings!
December is, generally, a quieter month for weddings as the festive season approaches but there always those who choose to get married at this special time of year. Thankfully, we are still quite busy and we’re still enjoying being your wedding planners of choice in Gibraltar. In fact, we’d like to take this opportunity again to thank you all for your trust and business.
We’d like to inform our clients, in advance, that the Registry office in Gibraltar will be closed between the 19th December and the 3rd January. If you are thinking of having a Christmas wedding, then please don’t hesitate to contact us. We can discuss your wishes and answer any of your queries.
Although in the summer months, with the sun shining down, brides and grooms can walk along the beaches here on the rock and have weddings on outside terraces in luxury hotels, or tie the knot in the beautiful Botanical Gardens, if you can weather the cold weather, there is a different kind of charm and beauty to winter weddings. The great thing about the cold is that it makes people want to spend more time by a nice open log fire and be warm and snug, after their ceremony, perhaps with a warm glass of mulled wine; especially at this time of year.
Whatever idea you have in mind for your wedding, we’d like to hear about it and see if we can make it come true for you. So, as per usual, all that remains to be said is, call us! We’re here for you.
