Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located on the southern coast of Spain. Gibraltar is easy to reach by air or by land if you’re travelling from Europe or Africa.
Fly to Gibraltar
Gibraltar’s airport is called Gibraltar International Airport.
Direct flights to Gibraltar are available from London, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol. Many couples also land in Malaga and from there drive down to Gibraltar (1.5 hours away).
Travel through Spain by car
If you’d like to enjoy a bit of driving, you can travel through Spain by car to get to Gibraltar. There is a land border between Gibraltar and Spain, so if you travel to southern Spain you can drive across the border.
If you are coming from anywhere else in the world, then your best option is to fly either into into Gibraltar International Airport or at Malaga airport.
Travel to Gibraltar through Spain by bus
If you want to travel through Spain by bus, there are daily buses Spain to the Spanish side of the border. Timetables/pricing can be found online. It’s a great method if you want to soak up the journey, as you won’t have to drive there yourself.
There are many ways to get to Gibraltar, if you fly into southern Spain then you can either drive across the border or take a bus. If you live in Europe, then taking the train is also an option. For those who don’t have access to these methods of transportation, there are still other options available like flying directly into Gibraltar airport or taking a ferry from Morocco.
